Simon is a Partner in the Advisory team based in our Glasgow office. A trained chartered accountant, after qualification he worked in audit for PwC including spells in London and San Jose. After completing a full time MBA, Simon ran a property development business before moving into banking with spells at Bank of Scotland, Clydesdale Bank and National Australia Bank.
Simon worked across a range of disciplines in the banking sector, from front line lending and relationship management to distressed corporate/SME management, leading the forced exit teams in both Scotland and London for the Clydesdale Bank/National Australia Bank through the financial crisis.
Since joining the firm in 2014, Simon has worked with corporates and SMEs across Scotland as they refinance or restructure their businesses (whether in distress or not). He has completed a wide variety of engagements covering strategic reviews, business valuations, forensic investigations, working capital reviews and independent business reviews. He has also been involved in the marketing and sale of businesses/business assets, including the sale of significant property portfolios. Covering all of Scotland, Simon has spent a considerable amount of time in the North East over the last 18 months and has worked with a number of clients as they face difficult sector conditions, to avoid business failure.
Simon provides an objective, independent view on business problems, utilising his wide accounting and business experience and delivering clear, pragmatic advice to clients.
